Bud Vase Workshop: Part 2

Join us for two nights of fun making ceramic bud vases! The vases will be shaped on Thursday, May 16 and decorated/glazed on Thursday, May 23. Beginners are welcome! Our Resident Visionary Donna Pioli is hosting this multi-day workshop. She has specialized in ceramics for over ten years and her trademarks include playful and feminine sculptural additions to her pieces. You can check out some of her work here.

Your pieces will be fired in Donna’s kiln and the pick up date for the completed art will be determined at the time of the workshop.

Date & Time: 6:45pm-8:45pm on Thursday, May 16, 2019 and Thursday, May 23, 2019

Cost: $65 (includes materials and firing)

Age: 16+ years old

There is a minimum requirement of four participants for this workshop to be held. If you paid for the workshop and it is cancelled, you will receive a full refund. You will be notified of a canceled workshop within 24 hours of the workshop.

Podcast Essentials Workshop: Session 3

Interested in hosting your own podcast or radio show? This is the workshop series for you! Utilize this platform to be an influencer in whatever field you are targeting. This series is made up of four sessions, each 90 minutes in length. You must sign up for each session individually.

Date & Time: Monday, May 27, 2019 from 6:00pm-7:30pm

Price: $25.00/person

Overview: The goal of this workshop is to familiarize attendees with the most critical elements of podcasting, recording, editing, and publishing. The creative process of writing and delivering content through spoken word will also be addressed as well as an in-depth look at creating a media host account. Independent Visionary Dan Thibeault, will deliver direct instruction on the technical aspects and lead participants to producing their own audio file that is ready for publishing.  

 Materials needed: Laptop computer with WiFi capabilities, Audacity (free) or similar software download. If the participant would like to publish*their podcast, they may be required to subscribe to a media host account. Dan will provide a podcast microphone, a portable recorder, graphic design software, small speakers and inspiration. Anyone without a laptop may work on the presenter’s laptop during the sessions.

Session 3

·       Recording

·       Post-production editing

·       Laying in music beds

·       Applying effects

·       File types & specs

Participants will decide if they want to take the next step and publish their podcast in the final session. All are welcome to observe and learn the process. There are several different ways to achieve this, but it does cost money. Beyond publishing, audio files may be embedded into websites with functional players.

Watercolor Workshop

This is a great class if you’ve always wanted to play with watercolors without investing in all the materials. Everything is included as well as a mat and sleeve for your finished painting.

Cheryl will lead you step-by-step through the process of creating a sunset or night sky scene. Then you can choose what silhouette you want to add to the bottom of the painting. Cheryl will have lots of ideas but you are welcome to bring ideas and images as well. You could do a favorite city skyline or scene!

Don’t worry about drawing! If you don’t feel comfortable sketching, you can trace your elements.

Cost is $35.00 and all instructions and supplies are included.

Tree of Life - Metallic Painting Workshop

Join us to paint this acrylic painting of a stylized Tree of Life. Rich metallic paints are used on a black paper surface. You will go home with a completed 11” x 14” painting, matted to fit into a 16” x 20” frame. Cheryl Hughes, the hosting Visionary, will help you get your sketch on the paper and will go step-by-step painting your tree. You can paint as shown or make it your own by using a color palette of your choice. It will be a fun and creative night and you will go home with a completed painting you can be proud of. Once you learn the technique, you can paint this tree on a variety of surfaces from canvas, slate, and wood, just to name a few.

Kids Snowman Workshop

Join us to create a painted snowman on a distressed wood board. We will paint the snowman, then decorate with painted hats, mittens, etc. At the end of the workshop, we will add a spattering of snow, a wire hanger, and personalization with wording or a name. Glitter will be available to add a little sparkle :-) This is a fun sign that can be hung indoors or out.
